Casey, the Saint Bernard, who formally had only known life at the end of a short chain, found her new home in New York. Her new mom sent this message: “I just wanted to let you know that Casey is adjusting beautifully!! We are surprised how well she is actually doing! I am sure it is because of all of your hard work before we got her! She is taking quickly to being inside a home for the first time in her life. She has her crate in the garage. We closed it up the first night but somehow she got it open and was laying on the garage floor when we woke up in the morning! Last night we just left it open for her to go in if she wanted or not if she didn’t want to! She has adjusted awesome to the house…no accidents at all. She loves the kids and they love her! Daisy (Casey’s new dog sibling) is still not quite sure what to think of her. She is really just indifferent….I’m kind of hoping it stays that way! She is very skiddish of loud, new noises. The first night she was deathly afraid of the garage doors closing so we have simply just left them shut and are using the side doors. We never park inside during the summer anyway so there is no need for them to even be open really! We have been taking her out on a leash until she gets used to the property boundaries and until we can start the invisible fence training!
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a quick update!!! We are just in love with her!!!!
Thanks again and talk soon!!!Shirley”
